RICS is delighted to invite you to a Webinar CPD on Red Book Valuation: Assessing comparable evidence in markets without transparency, which will be held on 7 May 2019.
This Webinar CPD will cover how to assess and derive comparable evidence in markets which have little transparency. We operate in a region where the availability of data has improved but is far from perfect. Often different data sources for the same deal conflict with each other, and the information depends on who you have been able to speak with, rather than a verified data source or publication as we have in European markets. Things have improved in recent years and we work efficiently within these constraints. However, we do have to go beyond to sense check and find comfort in our valuation numbers, especially in areas outside of the main City of Dubai. Let’s discuss these methods, remind ourselves what the hierarchy of evidence looks like, and work towards a more transparent future for all valuers in the region.
- The hierarchy of evidence and how it fits practically in this region
- Sources of information available
- Obtaining the best quality information
- Red Book Requirements
- Appropriate valuation caveats used in this region.
- Analysis techniques that go beyond, to provide a source of reason and comfort
- Methods of valuation where there is little to no data
- Remember to work together to build a more transparent market.
