About the Speaker
Tom Kapapa has over 20 years of experience in the construction industry, specialising in quantum and delay analysis on a variety of projects across Africa, the Middle East, Europe and the UK.
Throughout his experience acting as both a delay and quantum expert, he has worked on commissions for disputed sums up to US$600 million for project values in excess of US$5billion. He has been cross-examined in international arbitration, including giving concurrent evidence (hot tubbing). Tom also acts as both an arbitrator and mediator and has taken the lead on a dispute adjudication board (DAB), as well as leading numerous claims negotiations. Tom’s diverse sectoral experience ranges from major city developments (including high-rise tower buildings and leisure developments), road and motorway construction, rail and station construction, and major structural steelwork to water, wastewater and infrastructure drainage, power station construction, oil and gas development, LNG complex development, and mechanical and electrical infrastructure.
Tom is a qualified member of both RICS and CIArb is preparing for his Fellowship (FRICS) to the Institution. He provides training and often acts as counsellor or mentor for several quantity surveyors and contract administrators in Qatar.

The presentation will start promptly at 1830. If you have not checked in by this time (1830), you will not be able to claim your 1.5hrs CPD.
All practising RICS members are required to record at least 20 hours of CPD (including a minimum of 10 hours of formal CPD) completed each year. It has come to our attention that certain RICS members in this region have declared as complete CPD events that they have booked but not attended.
Please note that we maintain attendance registers at RICS training and CPD events. We will also be carrying out extra checks on CPD records and, where dishonest recording is identified, the matter will be brought to the attention of the RICS regulation team and may result in RICS pursuing disciplinary action.
