RICS is delighted to invite you to the CPD run on Conflict Avoidance and Dispute Resolution, which will be held on 27 November 2019 in Amman, Jordan.
The seminar will examine the benefit of conflict avoidance and dispute resolution in construction projects. It will also illustrate best practice techniques to avoid such situations starting from the very early stages of design. The presenter will provide live industry examples.
This session will also introduce the three pillars of dispute resolution and outline scenarios of when each is used.

- Appreciate the dispute escalation clauses in Contracts
- Understanding the minimum level of service required by a quantity surveyors to avoid conflicts and disputes.
Speaker: Dana Azzam, Director, Nabih E Azzam (NEA)
About the Speaker
Dana Azzam has more than 23 years of experience in the Construction Industry in Jordan and the region. Her experience working as a Chartered Quantity Surveyor in various sized projects during pre and post construction stages has provided her with valuable understanding of the issues that lead to disputes and how to propose solutions to resolve the same. Dana has acted as an Arbitrator, Expert and provided advise during legal proceedings. Dana holds a BSc in Civil Engineering and a Diploma in International Arbitration. Dana is a Member of the Jordan Engineers Association with Consultant Engineer status, a Fellow in the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and a Chartered Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. She is actively involved with the RICS and is regularly participates as Assessor during the Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) interviews.
