RICS is delighted to invite you to a CPD run on Concurrent Delays and Time Extension in Construction Contracts Claims, which will be held on 30 January 2019 at B303, The Design House, Al Sufouh Gardens, Dubai.
This CPD will cover the principle of Concurrency; a matter that frequently arises in regard to causation in construction contracts claims. Emphasis will be made on how concurrency deals with losses which may be due to different causes that run at the same time or overlap and particularly causes which originate from both the Employer and the Contractor. Specific approaches for dealing with concurrent delays will also be visited such as the Devlin Approach, Dominant Cause Approach and the Burden of Proof Approach.
Main points of discussion:
- What is concurrency
- Approaches to deal with concurrent delays
- Concurrency as it relates to extension of time
- Concurrency as it relates to compensation for prolongation
- Delay analysis techniques that best illustrate concurrency
