RICS is delighted to invite you to a training event run on BIM Implementation and Management which will be held on the 23 March 2019, at Marriot Marquis City Center, Doha Qatar.
Summary of the Topic:
Globally we are witnessing design and construction projects switching from a relatively analogue 2D process to one which is fully digitised, with computer-readable data informing decision-making processes throughout the entire asset life cycle. Key to this transformation is Building Information Modelling (BIM), not just from a technology perspective but also through changing processes and culture, enabling better collaboration and ultimately integrated construction and asset management. Ambitious Gulf mega-projects such as World Cup Qatar 2022, and Municipality BIM mandates are the key drivers to the success of this transformation.
BIM by nature challenges current ways of designing, building and operating our assets, helping industry become more collaborative and efficient. BIM has the potential to transform the relationships between supply chain partners, reduce both capital and operational costs, speed up delivery times, increase efficiency, cut waste and deliver assets that are correct first time.
As the Gulf embraces this new future it is essential that they learn from the industry and utilise resources available. This one-day RICS training module on the ‘Introduction to BIM Implementation and Management’ aims to support individuals and organisations starting their BIM transformation to develop their BIM capability and development plan aligned with Level 2 BIM as defined by the PAS 1192.
Who is this course for?
The training is designed for individuals and organisations starting their BIM transformation and would like to have an overview of the principles of BIM, key benefits, challenges and risks, implementation strategies and understand the lessons learnt from the industry. It is also suitable for Cost Consultants, Project Managers and Client Representatives working on BIM projects and looking to develop their BIM management knowledge.
- On the completion of this one-day training module the candidates will be able to:
- Understand the principles of BIM from a multidisciplinary perspective
- Appreciate the benefits, challenges and risks associated with BIM
